My research seeks to develop novel 3D hydrogel-based models for DIPG (diffuse intrinsic pontine gliomas), a devastating pediatric brain cancer. Such models will be used to identify novel therapeutic targets related to integrin signaling that can inhibit DIPG proliferation and invasion, and will be validated using mouse models. The outcomes of my thesis research will uncover novel mechanisms underlying how cell-extracellular matrix (ECM) and cell-to-cell interactions drive DIPG.
