My research centers around a label-free method to record electrical signals in cardiomyocytes and neurons called Electrochromic Optical Recording (ECORE). Electrochromic materials are materials that experience changes in their spectral properties when a voltage is applied. ECORE detects the local color changes in an electrochromic film induced by action potentials. I plan to further develop this novel ECORE method to achieve multi-site optical recording.
