Cassandra Villicana

My research focuses on understanding how the immune system interacts with biomaterials to impact bone tissue regeneration. By unraveling these interactions I am able to engineer biomaterials and design immunomodulatory therapies. My project is set on establishing tissue derived decellularized ECM within our 3D macroporous microribbon platform and assess the response in cranial bone critical defect healing.
