Callan Monette

My research focuses on the development of 3D tissue engineered models of Osteosarcoma. These models enable us to screen potential therapeutics in a high-throughput and patient-specific manner. I’m interested in characterizing the heterogeneity in drug response across various patient-derived Osteosarcoma lines in vitro and using this information to both learn about mechanisms of drug resistance and identify options for targeted combinatorial therapies to circumvent this resistance. Beyond this project, my research background is primarily in synthetic biology, and I am very interested in the potential intersections between tissue engineering and synthetic biology.
